  • He is indeed a murder, but he hasn’t been treated like one. Most murders get a brief investigation or a few dedicated officers - this murderer received millions of dollars in police time to track them down. Most murderers receive minimal press coverage (i.e. the mass shooting shortly after this killing) this murder’s trial will be publicized and politicized, he will be “made an example of” because someone committed economic vigilantism and that is unacceptable to our wealthy class.

Murder is a bad and I’d much prefer peaceful means. But we are where we are and it’s going to be a fucking circus.

  • Young people can struggle with this until they realize how thoroughly fucked we all are. There’s a weird culture of height significance in dating that’s a pretty entrenched meme at this point. So it’s something there is a lot of insecurity around it.

Your view is the correct one, of course, we just need to fucking deal with what we are aka “have the grace to accept the things I cannot change”.

  • You’re correct and I think your original statement was pretty fair - but “All the time” and other soft indications like that - serve poorly when we’re discussing something as serious as murder. Most murders go unsolved and while a very significant number of murders are resolved if you happen to be talking to someone who has intimate knowledge of a family member or friend being murdered “all the time” is likely to come across as cavalier.

Our language gets weird around strongly emotional events (you’ll get a similar response if, at a friends’ wedding you comment “You know, most marriages end in divorce” even if it’s objectively the truth).

So written by a person with a little bit of ASD and has similarly put their foot in their mouth in the past.
