Are you talking about 1 or 2? I always thought 2 was better and introduced a load of mechanics (to me at least) that are commonplace nowadays. This was the first FPS game I played where getting found during a stealth mission didn’t completely ruin everything. And the concept of unkillable enemies that you can only run from.

Linux is the best it’s ever been but it’s still too complicated for normal people. Most people don’t even know what a VM or a driver is. I would disagree that drivers are no more of an issue on Linux than Windows. You can plug upwards of 99% of devices into Windows and they’ll just work. Barely and vendors provide support for Linux, not that that’s the fault of anyone really. I can understand why vendors don’t want to commit resources and Linux can’t have built in support for everything.

There’s also OVPN. They do all the stuff people like Mullvad for but they own all their own hardware and they’ve had their no-logging policy tested in court.

About to head off to work but I think Netgear make one, but it’s like 6-7x more expensive. And it’s probably made in China anyway.

It’s an Archer T3U, which uses a Realtek chipset. I was living in Africa at the time I bought it and you don’t get much choice when it comes to electronics. I heard of a guy who had to travel to Spain to get a USB mouse. Anyway, the problem is that I’m actually trying to install it on a Beaglebone Black which is stuck on the 5.10 LTS kernel. The chipset is actually supported in the latest kernel, but the BB version hasn’t been released yet.

Not predicted to win by a reliable margin though, it could go either way. I did read that Harris is scoring better with the demographics that are more likely to vote though.

I spent today trying to install a USB WiFi dongle in Debian. On Windows it took about 5 seconds, I still haven’t got it working on Debian.

There are others that aren’t Chinese but nothing anywhere near the price bracket you’ll get from GL.Inet. I wouldn’t trust them either, I’d just take the hit and lose the app. Since it’s OpenWRT I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s an alternative to the apps. Flashing standard OpenWRT to them is really easy, you just download it from the site and flash through the firmware upgrade option, no dramas. Many VPNs will have instructions on how to set up their service on OpenWRT.

I’m avoiding reading this thread as I don’t want spoilers but I didn’t really enjoy the first one that much and dropped out before finishing. I hear a lot about 2 though, is it worth playing the first one in order to play 2?

I don’t see why everyone hates this. It’s disabled by default and you don’t have to use it. I use Linux but thank god someone’s actually trying to make operating systems interesting again, nobody else has done anything interesting in years.

I don’t think I’ve ever had a kid come to the door without a costume, I’m not sure I’d even notice. But yeah, who knows why they haven’t got a costume, so I’d probably give them some.

I think you could lose your mind doing this. In my garage I have a few pots of various screws sorted by the material they’re made of.

I keep entertaining the idea of sorting them by size, for example, one pot for M8 nuts, bolts, screws, etc. just because it’s obviously easy to tell the difference between a nut and a screw, but not easy to tell the difference between an M8 nut and an M10 nut.

Most stuff just goes in the recycling though.

I’m probably remembering half of this wrong, it was the only time I’ve ever played Settlers of Catan in my life. So I recall you have to be the first person to so many points and I got something like a port which let me convert hay to points. I got that and then quietly traded all my items for hay.

Out of all of us there were only two guys that had played before, I’ve never met either of them before or since. They were getting really serious and competitive with each other. I still remember the look on one guy’s face when I eon the game out of nowhere. I wasn’t being smug or anything but this guy gave me a proper glare. He was a little bitch and wouldn’t talk to me for the rest of the night. A couple of people said they were glad I beat him.
