Agreed. I just wanted to pipe in from the peanut gallery XD
Except for that dang Oxford comma 🤬
That sounds like good traits for a junior or internship role.
Just because you’re awake doesn’t mean you need to be working
I hope this reference never dies
…And I would walk 500 miles
I’ve noticed that everywhere I’ve worked I have connected with a person like that, for better or worse. I’m really bad at the people part of things but great at technical stuff. Unfortunately for the non people savvy it’s hard to distinguish who is trying to use you vs who really wants to team up with you and help you as well as themselves… Yes Apple needed a Jobs to sell themselves, but it seems Jobs viewed Woz as an end to a goal, and not the partner/ human being who helped him get there.
Yep. We’ve got me a technical guy who loves deep diving in theory and understanding the why of everything, and a smooth talking ex-Navy guy who is good at thinking on his feet and has great mechanical acumen. Last but not least, we have the guy who uses a sick day whenever there’s work scheduled, and then shows up the next day and goes on some libertarian rant about how any progress we’ve made since the 19th century is a sign of our country going down the toilet. Dream team baby
I like your optimism
Looks tasty. I also love that plate
If it didn’t happen at work and it was a first time offense, I could see a company putting him on a leave of absence pending completing rehab or something similar. A lot of companies have started viewing drug abuse as a health issue and will work with their employees a little bit. I don’t think they generally give many chances though
I think they were picturing a minotaur when they posted
Bet they’ll also still increase the price when summer comes anyways
I agree that he deserved it. The rules he broke also wouldn’t give him an advantage on the field, so I think he earned it fair and square.
Yes it is. We just don’t know what makes it work
I feel you. I spent 48 hours this week streaming shows, waiting for a possible call to some in. I’m sure that’s some people’s dream job, but it drives me nuts that I have to be on site for no reason. I like the feeling I get from actually working and the sense of accomplishment it gives you
I don’t get how corporate is so detached that they’re making these policies. I left my last job about a year ago because a competitor offered 30% more. My manager said they could do 3% and, with regular raises, I’d be at that amount in 10 years. I know his hands were tied and he was just grasping at any reason he could come up with to keep me, but that just makes me even more incredulous that companies are crafting policies like this.
Edit: This job also requires about a year of training to be halfway decent, with multiple business trips overseas, so they didn’t even save any money as far as I can tell.
I’m lucky enough to have a WinCo nearby, but I’m not sure how widespread they are
