Such an insidious way of keeping workers complicit in our capitalist hellscape.
It truly is like that Margaret Atwood quote, about men being afraid women will laugh at them, and women being afraid men will kill them.
Next time I’m in an airport food court I’ll try to really take in the view of the cinnabon next to the starbucks.
Doesn’t matter the brand, cars traditionally don’t appreciate in value. Wisdom always was that it starts to lose value as soon as you drive it off the lot, because of the wear it takes through regular use. Then the pandemic hit, and a shortage of new cars, which drove up the used car (AND new car) market. It’s all madness IMO, but people with the power to do so (corpos and private individuals alike) are trying to hang on to that bubble for dear life.
Maybe I’m just tired, but I’m struggling to think of other uses in the kitchen beyond just a warm beverage? Maybe for instant noodles or warming a bottle?
In our area, they’ll use suicidal ideation to get a hospital bed a lot
You’d think, but unfortunately it do be like that for those of us with female phenotypes.
Nah, there are a lot of retail songs waaayyyy more annoying than that one that would just take its place. At least that one has some talent involved lmao.
I think people missed your sarcasm lol
Why are you feeling the need to have your protein shakes in secrecy?
The second Apple rolled out face ID, I knew this tech was ready and waiting for forced ads
So tangential storytime: my husband recently discovered one of these channels (not sure if it’s this one or just a similar one), and specifically this goddamned song called “I glued my balls to my butthole again.” He will. Not. Stop. Playing it. He thinks it’s fucking hilarious, especially the more I roll my eyes.
Anyway, yes these channels are a blight, something needs to be done about them, and if anyone needs a husband they can find mine on the curb blasting that song on a loop lmao
Just like internalized misogyny is very much a thing in women, internalized racism is a thing, too. It’s sort of like a poor person aligning themselves with the rich against their own interests, if that’s easier for you to visualize. All that to say, I agree with the other commenter— that cop is blue.
Dammit, this is why you always secure your lifeline before entering the Rabbit Hole
If you’re looking for a more schlocky horror experience, give Resident Evil 8 a try! Extremely fun to play with a story that would be kinda ‘eh’ if the performances didn’t elevate it to cult-following b-movie perfection.
Subnautica would be a good game to transition from the end of summer to the beginning of fall. Spooky atmosphere where you play (almost) entirely underwater.
Crow Country came out earlier this year and definitely capitalizes on PS1 era horror games. In that vein also, Signalis is an excellent cerebral sci-fi horror.
Horror comedies are definitely a thing, but tbh I’d still consider Alan Wake 2 an outright horror even with the lighter stuff! Very spooky elements, with great writing and story crafting. Bonus points if you play Remedy’s other games for the Easter eggs
None of the others are as good as Until Dawn, imo, unfortunately :(
I keep hoping, but no joy every time
For me, podcasts specifically about going to sleep to them trigger my contrariness too much to be actually relaxing. It’s gotta be on a normal topic that is just the right balance of interesting, but not exiting/engaging.
History typically scratches that itch for me. Dan Carlin’s hardcore history and the history of the English being the two goats that coke immediately to mind. Camp Monsters is also a great one; the rare fiction podcast that I can actually stand, much less relaxes me enough to sleep.
