I’m Christian and believe strongly in the separation of church and state because it makes better governments and better churches. I also believe that any entity paying taxes should have some level of input on the political process. Between that and the legitimate non-profit status of most churches, I strongly support legitimate religious institutions being exempt from taxes in the same way I support the food bank and non-profit cultural centers being tax exempt.

But churches that choose to participate directly in the political process are not holding up their end of the bargain. They’re making church and politics both worse, and their tax-exempt status should absolutely be revoked.

But sometimes CE is “Clear Everything” and it works exactly the opposite way.

The rental aspect isn’t a bubble. Until they start viciously taxing single-family home rental, home prices are going to stay high because they’re not being bought as homes but as assets for rent-seeking.

The people fleeing California for Texas aren’t people who love California and its politics.

They’re mostly Republicans, and they’re making Texas more red AND increasing home prices.

Single-family rental is also a huge thing now.

I work in municipal development, and since 2021, 100% of single-family subdivision developments that have approached the city have been for rental-only neighborhoods.

And they want to put all the homes on a single shared commercial water meter on a single piece of property instead of extending public lines, so they can’t even be converted later without massive infrastructure projects and replatting.

House prices exploded during Covid. Yeah, they dipped for like 2 weeks initially, but then they skyrocketed.

The only thing I hate about it is that it made the writers think they were good at doing musical numbers, and in the following seasons, they did a bunch of really, really bad songs.

You should watch season 3. The only things to know about season 2 is that they wrote off all but 1 of the new characters, and that it’s entirely unimportant for season 3.

Season 2 can absolutely be ignored entirely going into season 3, which is good because season 2 is complete garbage. And that annoys the hell out of me because it’s the one with Q, Guinan, and even a brief appearance of Wesley.
