Cognitive dissonance. People (especially libertarians) don’t associate Republicans with regulations and laws controlling people’s behavior even though Republicans are deep in bed with religious movements that are trying to codify the Bible as law.
What I am wondering is what this publication is leaving out of the story in order to sell their perspective on everything. Maybe it’s nothing and this really is just a DCFS gone mad (there are certainly cases in which this is true), or maybe there’s more to the story and they are just glazing over it to make things sound better to their point of view.
Either way, this is a Republican run state which is the party that likes to court libertarians so I am pretty skeptical of everything regarding this.
Not to mention literally all of the good processors come from Taiwan.

The US “Green Party” isn’t really a party or even a cohesive group of any sort. They don’t actually stand for anything other than “not the democrat”. Oh, sure they throw stuff onto a platform for the election to try to convince everyone they stand for something but mostly it’s a small fraction of former Democrats who come out of the woodwork every 4 years to obfuscate the presidential election with the net end result of taking a handful or votes that would have otherwise gone to a democratic candidate. After this election is over they will vanish again as though they were never there. This has been their modus operandi since their inception.
Well, this is The Register. Not exactly a paragon of stellar reporting here.
Watch her get out in a year and be invited to go on the Republican lecture circuit to talk about how woke politics is ruining American college campuses.

It’s just exactly like the people who saw “black lives matter” and thought they meant only black lives matter. They see the sign saying “not all men but always men” and ignored the first part and focused on the second part. Then proceeded to ignore the actual subject of the article (you know, the woman who was continually raped without her knowledge or consent for over 10 years by 50 or possibly more men and the fact that the defense is arguing that “maybe she secretly knew and liked it”). And are completely focused on being outraged by the sign.

Yeah the problem is the picture on the article and not the men on here who took immediate offense to it instead of paying attention to the actual message and problem. Which is rampant sexual assault that is basically being ignored by the authorities and society at large.
This woman was unknowingly raped by more than 50 men (possibly hundreds) over god knows how long. All orchestrated by her husband. Some of those people were supposedly highly respected individuals and yet not one of them saw anything wrong with what they were doing.
But your anger is with the woman holding up a sign saying “not all men but always men”. You are exactly like the people who took umbrage at the black lives matter protests because they were saying “black lives matter” and not “all lives matter”. To be blunt, you’re missing the message. Not because you don’t actually get it. But because you don’t want to.
I don’t know where in the stats I quoted it said anything about dismissing male victims? In fact that statistic includes male victims because most sexual assault on males is committed by other males. Now if you were assaulted by a woman I’m sorry and that’s terrible, but the fact is that it’s a rarity in comparison to the acts committed by men. But all should be treated with equal seriousness. And none of it is, because men are in power and they don’t tend to consider rape or sexual assault a “real” crime.
I don’t know about you all but as soon as Trump was elected I immediately resolved to cut my personal spending by as much as humanly possible. I’ve already canceled many of my subscription services and I have reduced my use of Amazon and other online purchases to absolute zero. I’m going to work on paying down every dime of debt I owe as soon as possible and save every penny. Because shit’s going to get fucked in the next 4 years with these clowns in charge. It’s gonna be a light Christmas in my household this year.
I highly recommend you all do the same. Don’t be the last one holding the bag when the music stops and reality sets in. For example, look at the people in the UK after Brexit.
