  • Not op, I have AMD Ryzen 7, but I haven’t had the issue. I have all Windows bloatware un-installed or disabled, though.

Edit: I had one issue (one time, so I forgot about it), but I think it was a user error (me). I had to uninstall Linux because I either didn’t update Windows or Linux (I think it was Linux), and their security systems were in conflict. Windows wouldn’t even start until I used the BIOS to uninstall Linux. I had a backup, but a lost of little bit of data because I couldn’t figure out how to make a new one. I reinstalled the updated version, and I didn’t have any more issues.

We have a bot problem, but we also have admins/ mods that don’t want to bloat their numbers with bots (mostly). The fediverse helps us hold each other accountable, and if any community is full of bots, you defedirate them. I don’t mind the auto posters that seed content. I like the OSRS update bot, etc…

  • It was more the dicks showing up in class unprompted. Then, it was people sharing links to shock sites. Now we have to worry about people stealing information. That was always a thing, it’s just a lot more common now.

Edit: I also have to admit, I remember helping the teacher enough with their computer to get Admin privileges by using their console. It was literally stuff liking helping them make a PowerPoint full-screen. I’d download games and then dispense them through little known shared files on the network (usually old forgotten projects). I’d also save shortcuts to google proxies. In hindsight, that was exactly the kind of thing they’re probably trying to stop. I was pirating stuff at a young age. I definitely could’ve downloaded malware and shared it with the network.
