I approve of cabbage but I’m not delighted with most of the recipes I’ve used. Got something really different? And please, my body can’t tolerate much capsaicin so don’t lean into heavy 🌶️. Other spicy spices are fine.

I’m lucky enough to live in SoCal, I have tomatoes and blueberries and lemons and miner’s lettuce in pots on my balcony year-round. And I make lovely strawberry jam, but I’m well aware that the boiling necessary for preservation destroys most of the Vitamin C.
Sure, it’s midsummer. But if the tariffs are still on in December… Well, I’ll probably still have cherry tomatoes on my balcony in Los Angeles, but it won’t work for someone in Minnesota.
Fortunately, TACO.
Not eating anything except local produce might get you winter scurvy in some places.
But you have a good sensible point about the billionaires.
As a short woman who can’t run fast, it depends on how safe the situation feels. In general, I keep moving if there’s someone coming out and approaching people, because some of those folks can switch from a scam to a purse-snatch/assault in a flash. But I’ve occasionally tucked a 20 into the cart of a woman sleeping on the sidewalk, and I don’t care what they spend it on. I donate monthly to my local food bank as well of course.
If you can easily pass for part of a plant, it’s pretty darn effective. Especially if you live where most plants stay green all year. Except it doesn’t work on invasive ferrets, stoats, and rats who eat the eggs.
With a prehensile nose. And fangs. And smelly glands.
And yes, so tiny they would probably roll coal in a lifted truck
Im sorry to hear that. Even on organic tomatoes?
The only dick pix I want to see are dik-dik pix.
How can you tell a male dik-dik from a female dik-dik?
Look for the dik-dik dick
I’m guessing… Tuesday?
Stealing and parroting others’ work is what they both do best! And think of the savings!!!

I’ve substituted sesame seeds for tahini in hummus before, toasting them and then blitzing them in the blender before adding the other ingredients. I always make my hummus in a blender so it’s fluffy and smooth. But with squash you might need a food processor instead, and it might not puree the sesame seeds enough.
Israeli experts in using sexual violence as a genocidal strategy, eh?
I live in Los Angeles and just happen to have a grocery store within easy walking distance. Like 0.5 km. But I don’t, because the old nice little convenience store got turned into stupid Whole Foods. Or Mold Foods, as we started calling it after trying some of their groceries. Now I drive a mile to where I can get fresher produce and dairy, and paper towels that don’t disintegrate with the first touch of liquid. Or we get our groceries delivered.
Now he can grow up to be a SPICY butterfly!
Let’s see Mr and Mrs Bezos out there volunteering first. It’s a wholesome honeymoon activity!
Article says the camp has been there for a century, and the water washed away the cabin while the girls were asleep… Sounds like climate change to me. Even though the building is surely newer, they’d know where the river had risen to in the past.
Oh! Green, red, napa? Carry around a head and pull off a leaf at a time or bite into the whole thing? Or slice it into shreds?
