Yeah, that’s a load of crap. A 2020 meta analysis found that the numbers are 1/10 that, and 2/3 of those people are those who had less than 3 months to live. In other words, medical errors tend to “kill” people who are already dying, and the number of healthy people for whom medical errors are the primary cause of death are exceedingly low.
Reducing medical errors is important, but making up nonsense statistics to grab headlines is just going to fuel the anti-medicine rhetoric even further.
The Patriot economy is that made of the true, red-blooded Americans.
13·11 days agoIt’s placebo in any practical sense. As mixtures become more dilute they essentially become pure water: anything over 23 dilutions becomes statistically unlikely to have even a single atom of the original substance in it at all. And the trials on it are indistinguishable from placebo.

An end of summer weekend getaway to a lake resort with the wife and kid. We’re planning to rent a speedboat and go hog wild.
Metallica - 2x4. It actually got me to stop my listen through of their albums one song into Load, and was a week or two before I pushed through to the rest of the album.
St. Anger has some boring songs, but this song I actively loathe.
I just now realized that XviD was DivX backwards.
Back in the day, I never knew the difference between the two, I just saw DivX getting gradually replaced by XviD.

People are focusing on the “violence begets violence” in the title but not this:

And… I get that? I liked Django and all, but I can see how Will might not like the bloody climax where the focus is more on the revenge than rescuing his wife. I think it’s fine he passed on the role and let it go to someone who was more invested with the revenge story.

Lemmy’s feed is 1000% better. No constant reposts, no ads, and ability to filter out read posts so it’s actually unique every day. I like it way better for news than reddit.
