Once I started using Lemmy I never touched Reddit again. So I guess Lemmy.

YES
At least if we go off the Lemmy definition. I don’t self identify.
This could be a huge money save. Might cost the city less if they simply bisect pedestrians in police chases instead of paralysing them from the waist down.
I didn’t think it was a choreographed publicity stunt. I just know Altman has used AI fear in the past to keep people from asking rational questions like “What can this actually do?” He obviously stands to gain from people thinking they are on the verge of agi. And someone looking for a new job in the field also has to gain from it.
As for the software thing, if it’s done by someone it won’t be openai and megacorporations following in its footsteps. They seem insistent at throwing more data (of diminishing quality) and more compute (an impractical amount) at the same style of models hoping they’ll reach some kind of tipping point.
This fear mongering is just beneficial to Altman. If his product is powerful enough to be a threat to humanity then it is also powerful enough to be capable of many useful things, things it has not proven itself to be capable of. Ironically spreading fear about its capabilities will likely raise investment, so if you actually are afraid of openai somehow arriving at agi that is dangerous then you should really be trying to convince people of its lack of real utility.
The cheapest fastfood cheeseburgers usually aren’t many calories, and they are even worse when it comes to overall nutrition and satiety. You may be getting something for a $1 but it could hardly be called a meal.
Are you trying to prove my point? I’m not going into threads about protesting or sabotaging dirty energy infrastructure and freaking out about how activists and the people who support them are all Biden haters and being overall inflammatory. Telling me to get some perspective is cute when it’s obvious you came to this thread focused on a single thing and ready to start shit, you didn’t come here to gain any perspective.
I can’t tell if you’re here to instigate as a right wing psyop or because you have so much electoralism brainrot that you have to make everything about an election that is still months away when there are more important things happening right now. People are dying.
Biting into a piece of dark chocolate for the first time will cause me to quickly sneeze similar to how people do when the step out into the sun or inhale black pepper.
You are paying for way more than the sum of the parts when you order a cocktail, I’m not really sure why you’d suddenly be concerned about doing so when it comes to a mocktail.
MusicBrainz Picard
Amazing music tagger and batch renamer, for those of us who still have all our music as files.
That’s not what happened? Also why is a cat pure but not a cow? Hell, if we applied human morals to other animals, cows are probably much better on average.
Nondisruptive protest is basically an oxymoron. If a protest doesn’t take up space and get in the way of things then it is on the level of hanging a sign on your personal property.
I’m not against food, I’m just against edible food.
A single easy enemy is great for food manufacturers because they can sell the same hyperpalletable, calorie dense, nutrient deficient foods to you and act like they are serving you a slice of something healthier. This moving goalpost makes for an easy distraction that keeps us from putting the blame on those food manufacturers and from looking to the produce section as an alternative. Very few companies want to actually take in all the research and serve us truly healthy food because it isn’t as addictive and it isn’t as cheap to manufacture. Customers do care about their health, but it’s very easy to “healthwash” products, it’s also very easy to “ethicswash” and “greenwash” products through good marketing.
You could probably just output OBS to a virtual webcam and just do a regular video call over Discord.
We should clearly turn people who have more children than your average shark into Soylent Green, because clearly they don’t ethically matter anymore. Maybe we can even feed them to sharks.
I’ve never played this game but keep showing how much of a clown you are.
Murdering fish okay. Murdering sharks unacceptable. 🤡
Demonstrably effective
Where’s the logic in looking at something successful and picking a singular thing to be responsible? What seems more likely is you are looking for an idea you are attached to that exists adjacent to something successful. It’s like a Mormon looking for successful Mormon CEOs to then claim the company’s success is due to the Mormon work ethic. It’s like how in Whiplash the Charlie Parker story is venerated and seen as explanatory by the characters.
Doing the right thing for the wrong reasons.
