Yea that’s definitely possible. I completely agree. But some people just have like a stress cap, ya know? It can put you over. There are definitely multiple reasons why it could happen.

Kids can also completely ruin marriages. I know multiple people who have straight up told me “my marriage used to be great and then having kids ruined it.” Of course kids can also bring tons of happiness! But it’s not universal.
Well yea, I don’t think Valve wants to nuke their own sales, lol. I think they don’t want any devs doing any funny business and abusing anti cheat. That’s my guess.
Not all anti cheats run at startup. Some only run when you play a game. I think vanguard for valorant ran all the time at first and people were pissed. Meanwhile easy anti cheat runs only with a game. So it depends. It all sucks though.
I highly doubt this will do anything at all to sales. But I’m just guessing. Maybe it will. Hopefully! But I still applaud the change by Valve. I think it’s great.
Well to be fair, we’re like 1% of all gamers. Most gamers don’t give a flying fuck and will gladly buy these products anyway. So the companies don’t really have much incentive to give a shit.
I thought you meant like all apps, ha. My bad. Yea there are def apps that you’d wanna use old versions for.
You update twice a year?? Enjoy your security vulnerabilities i guess.
Probably because VR gaming is basically dead. It never really took off and it’s a waste of time and money for them to devote resources to it. Probably like 0.1% of users are in VR.
That being said, part of why it’s dead is because no developers want to take chances on it, so it’s a self fulfilling prophecy. Valve was the last one to gamble on it.
Agreed, but to be fair, retail has been doing this for over like 10 years at least lol. It’s the most common with clothing shopping. It’s nothing new.
They are told to try to convince people to sign up. So they’re going to act manipulative in order to get you to. It’s just part of their job. Just keep refusing and don’t think much of it.
Thanks! Yea that’s super important information and this changes my opinion on that because I was thinking about cost.
Do you have a source for that? I’m genuinely curious. Because I thought about that a lot too and I would have assumed that it costs way more to keep someone alive, fed, and supervised for 50 years vs. a death penalty.
Just curious - what size rock do you live under? Is it room sized or as large as a house? How do you decorate? Is it climate controlled?

Yeah I’m worried about that too. Like Pihole can’t block youtube ads because they’re served from the same domain. Same with Twitch. So that could become even more common.
I have bad news for you. Literally every TV has ads now. Every. Single. One. That’s why I keep harping on Pihole. It blocks them.
I wouldn’t know. I use pihole to block all ads on my TV OS. I’m curious though, which service/app is giving you ads on pause? Do you mean like on a Roku TV where the screensaver is ads? Many TVs let you disable that (i.e. LG WebOS.) otherwise pihole is your friend :-)
Same. I also checked the data usage on my phone and google authenticator has used NO mobile data since I’ve had it installed for over a year. So I’m calling bullshit on this article.
I also do not see nearly as many permissions requested as in that screenshot. It needs photo and video permissions because you can upload qr codes and stuff. Also you can (don’t have to) link it your google account, so obviously it would have access to your google stuff.
