Ohio Sen. JD Vance is set to participate in a town hall in Pennsylvania on Saturday with evangelical religious leader Lance Wallnau, who said after this month’s presidential debate that Vice President Kamala Harris used “witchcraft.”
Wallnau, a Texas-based celebrity evangelist, is a self-described prophet. Two decades ago, he coined and popularized the Seven Mountains Mandate — an increasingly popular belief on the American right that says conservative Christians are called to occupy positions of power in seven key spheres of society, including business, education, media and government.
Since 2016, Wallnau and his allies have presented former President Donald Trump as a flawed but anointed leader— like the biblical figure King Cyrus — who has been chosen by God to restore Christian power in America. After denying Trump’s 2020 election defeat and telling followers that God had a plan to keep him in office, Wallnau joined pro-Trump protestors in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 6, 2021, to pray for divine intervention to stop Congress from certifying the electoral count as rioters attacked the U.S. Capitol.

Ummm … this guy has/is building a cult. This guy is making up new “Christian” ideas and has made himself a conduit for god. This is Trump bringing this cult into his own, and by doing so enforcing this guy’s power over his followers.

It’s wild what is believed in modern Christianity. I was very much dyed in the faith as a child in the nineties. Lucky for me I left that group as a young adult. I was in my thirties when I realized how cult like it was.
I was told that there were Wiccan covens across the city and that they were our enemies.
I was constantly told that we were fighting against principalities and powers that ruled over the world.
My young mind was constantly vigilant for demonic activity. I guess I had a bit of a panic attack as a young adult and realized I couldn’t constantly think that way.
Funny enough there was a dude in highschool who thought the same thing. He was scared of the Wiccan girl who drank way too much coffee and was very whimsical but I met her a couple times outside of school and she was just getting her ass kicked by being awake too early and sleep deprivation. I was the same way just swap whimsy for violence.
