I want to know what kind of discharge he got, especially since it was so quick: was it sufficiently dishonerable, or did some sympathizer sneak him out with a “general” before they had a chance to properly court-martial him and send him to Leavenworth?
He has not been discharged as of yet and is being held awaiting his federal trial. After that trial then he’ll be brought up for court martial (unlikely) or receive his big chicken dinner in fed lockup after his conviction (most likely)

If it was that quick, it was definitely a general.
They can do “other than honorable” pretty quick, but you’re probably right.
